Neill Blomkamp to Direct Hobbit movies -- Filming Begins Next Year

TheOneRing.net reports Neill Blomkamp (District 9) will direct the two Hobbit movies based on J.R. R. Tolkien's books.

Martin Freeman is in negotiations with the studio to play the part of Bilbo.

Spyglass has filed a letter of intent to run MGM if a deal can be reached with MGM's creditors.

Filming of The Hobbit: PART 1 will begin next year.
