Eartha Kitt, 1927 - 2008

Eartha Kitt, the sultry singer, dancer and actress who rose from South Carolina cotton fields to become an international symbol of elegance and sensuality, passed away Xmas day. She was 81.

One of America's most unique versatile performers, Eartha won two Emmys and got a third nom. She also was nominated for two Tony Awards and a Grammy.

Kitt, a self-proclaimed "sex kitten" was famous for her catlike purr. An incredibly smart and witty performer, she proved that sex kittens can have brains, courage, and sharp claws when needed. Meow!
