Guillermo del Toro's Splice premiered on Wednesday, June 2nd at the Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood, California. The black carpet event welcomed cast and crew as well as celebrities Robert Downey Jr., Kenny G, Mehcad Brooks and Hollywood producer mogul Joel Silver.

Delphine Chaneac plays the grown-up creature Dren, the moral heart of the sci-film film about the gene splice creation of new forms of life.

The stunning French actress and model has been compared to a French version of Angelina Jolie. She has only appeared in one English-speaking film, The Pink Panther.

This demanding role required her to convincingly portray a creature made in a lab by an ambitious geneticist couple. 'Dren' is part lizard, part bird, a dash of what-the-heck-is-that and a big dollop of human DNA.

Producer Joel Silver was blown away by Splice at the Sundance Film Festival screening and convinced Warner Bros. to pick up the film. A Splice sequel may be in the works! Splice opens in theaters nationwide on Friday, June 4.

Irresistable Robert Downey Jr. Hits the Big Screen Xmas Day as "Sherlock Holmes"

Sherlock Holmes has made his reputation finding the truth at the heart of the most complex mysteries. With the aid of Dr. John Watson, his trusted ally, the renowned "consulting detective" is unequaled in his pursuit of criminals of every stripe, whether relying on his singular powers of observation, his remarkable deductive skills, or the blunt force of his fists.

But now a storm is gathering over London, a threat unlike anything that Holmes has ever confronted...and just the challenge he's looking for.

After a string of brutal, ritualistic murders, Holmes and Watson arrive just in time to save the latest victim and uncover the killer: the unrepentant Lord Blackwood. As he approaches his scheduled hanging, Blackwood--who has terrorized inmates and jailers alike with his seeming connection to dark and powerful forces--warns Holmes that death has no power over him and, in fact, his execution plays right into Blackwood's plans.

Jude Law portrays Watson, Holmes's longtime colleague, who is joining him in what may be their last case before the doctor starts a new life as a married man.

Rachel McAdams is Irene Adler, a woman from America, who is as alluring as she is dangerous, and whose tempestuous relationship with the detective has become the one puzzle he cannot solve.

Mark Strong plays Lord Blackwood, whose own intellect, combined with merciless ambition, makes him a formidable adversary. Eddie Marsan appears as Scotland Yard's Inspector Lestrade, who is both impressed and frustrated by the great Sherlock Holmes.

Guy Ritchie directed the film from a screenplay by Michael Robert Johnson and Anthony Peckham and Simon Kinberg, screen story by Lionel Wigram and Michael Robert Johnson. Joel Silver, Lionel Wigram, Susan Downey and Dan Lin produced the film, with Michael Tadross and Bruce Berman serving as executive producers and Steve Clark-Hall co-producing.

Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) out of the Superhero Closet: 'Iron Man 2' First Look

Tony Stark is out of the superhero closet!

The photo features Downey Jr. in his garage/basement most likely conjuring up some sort of technological advancement with his A.I. personal assistant, Jarvis. Four of Iron Man's suits can also be seen in the background with the Mark I to Mark IV positioned from left to right.

Iron Man 2 began shooting three weeks ago and "takes place six months after Stark revealed his identity as Iron Man, says director Jon Favreau. And the development is playing out with unexpected results. 'How many superheroes are open about their true identities?' he asks. 'We wanted to play with that idea. But it obviously has consequences — in his relationships, on the team. There are a lot of areas we can explore."

John Slattery of "Mad Men" fame has been added to cast in an unknown role. Director Favreau unveiled the piece of news via his recent tweet on twitter (which is constantly updated with production tidbits): "Shooting a scene with John Slattery." Gary Oldman has been spotted on the LA set recently. His manager has denied casting rumors. Hmmm.

Alongside Robert Downey Jr., and Gwyneth Paltrow, confirmed cast includes Mickey Rourke as Whiplash, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, and Sam Rockwell as Justin Hammer. Samuel L. Jackson returns as Nick Fury and Don Cheadle has replaced Terrance Howard as Col. James 'Rhodey'Rhodes. Paul Bettany is rumored to voice Jarvis. No news on how the crime-fighting team S.H.I.E.L.D. will come together.

Favreau says that tackling the franchise a second time is easier because he knows the landscape. Something else would help, too: "I really enjoyed when we were a dark horse and no one knew much about us. ... I hope we can find that place again."

Iron Man 2 is due out May 7th 2010.
