'Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark' Director Troy Nixey's First Film 'Latchkey's Lament' [watch] & Happy Birthday to Guillermo del Toro !

A few months ago we posted an update on Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, a new film written and produced by Guillermo del Toro, a remake of the 1973 Australian film of the same name. Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark is a fantasy-horror film in the vein of Pan's Labyrinth. First-time filmmaker Troy Nixey, landed the directing role by impressing del Toro with a short film he made called Latchkey's Lament.

Don't be Afraid of the Dark stars Katie Holmes and is currently in post-production with a theatrical release date scheduled for 2011.
